My Friend’s House is more than just a shelter for women and children fleeing violence. For 25 years, we have been a safe haven where families recoup, recover and restart their lives free from abuse. Imagine being too scared to stay. Then, imagine being too scared to leave. With your support we can continue to help women and children safely reclaim their lives, create hope and plan for the future. Each year, we must raise $300,000 to make ends meet while serving the most vulnerable in our community. In addition to housing 200 women and children annually, we provide lifesaving Outreach and Transition services to 400 women that help families return to our community. Alison FitzGerald, Executive Director - "For a volunteer Board (raising $300,000) - that is an overwhelming number. The good news is that an event like The 6 Hours of Gibraltar Relay softens the pressure. Our doors truly would not be open if it wasn't for this kind of community support."
My Friend's House is a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency and issues tax receipts for donations of $25.00 and over.
